Higgins Cafe

The Higgins Cafe is an all-you-care-to-eat dining room, and accepts: meal plan, cash, Clark cash card and credit cards. Before placing your order, please inform your server if anyone in your party has a food allergy.

The food including sauces served at Higgins is cooked from scratch with locally and sustainable purchased fresh fruits, vegetables and meat that are trimmed and cut in-house by our onsite chefs. The aim of Higgins Cafe is to provide our guests with a fresh, homemade and real food experience. To achieve this we always use fresh ingredients, fruits, vegetables and bread that are delivered daily from local farms and bakeries. We believe in providing a healthy food experience to our guests.

Higgins Cafe is designed with healthy food architecture in mind, real food ingredients and from scratch entrees.

As you enter the dining hall, you are first met with fresh, healthy options including fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Good nutrition is about the choices you make. We are dedicated to creating an exceptional dining experience during each and every meal in Higgins Cafe whether it be for meal plan participants, their guests or community members.

Featuring

Higgins Salad Bar
Features everything that nature has to offer at the peak of freshness and from local farms whenever possible. Your first destination towards dining healthy. Our chefs clean and chop our vegetables by hand and provide an array of delicious choices to complement your entree.The Higgins salad bar features ingredients displayed for guests to customize and recreate popular salads such as Cobb Salad, Chef Salad, Asian Chicken Salad and More! Salad Bar now features Freight Farms lettuce grown on campus. 

Denny's Soups
Fresh from our kitchen and Denny's stove top cooking pot, our soups are made by hand each day with fresh ingredients and a chef’s touch (one soup is always vegan Monday-Friday and one is always vegetarian on weekends). 

MyZone
MyZone is a station where food items needed by customers with celiac disease or food allergies can be housed with precautions against cross-contamination. This special area gives students the ability to be involved in their own allergen-safe meal preparation. MyZone will always be free of gluten-containing ingredients and products, as well as tree nut and peanut products. 

Simple Servings
Simple Servings provides a safe and appetizing food choices for our customers with food allergies, gluten intolerance, or those who prefer plain and simple foods. The Simple Servings station does not offer foods made with the FDA most common allergens of peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, and eggs. All foods offered will be made without gluten-containing ingredients. Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contamination of their menu items. This station is open for everyone. 

Chef's Table
Restaurant style menu options, typically served with fresh steamed vegetables, local whenever possible. Many entrees are customizable where students can request smaller portions or vegetables to add to other entrees. 

The Grill
Featuring burgers and hand-cut fries made with local potatoes, hot dogs, grilled chicken burgers, veggie burgers, turkey burgers and more. Daily specials everyday. Create your own special burger with various toppings available at the burger toppings station. 

The Garden 
100% vegan cuisine including house made soup, hand-soaked beans, whole grains, from scratch vegan entrees and veggies steamed or roasted in house. Basmati rice is always available at the Garden. Combining this with our hand-soaked beans creates the perfect vegan protein. 

Ultimate Deli
Our chef creates a menu with two signature sandwiches daily, one of which is always vegetarian. In addition, freshly sliced meats and cheese, house made hummus, roasted peppers and traditional salad veggies are available to maximize your meal without adding calories. Breads served at the deli are baked locally.

Flavor Changes 
This station features house made chip and dip bars, bread and spread and smoothie bars at each meal period. 

Higgins Desserts
Desserts made in house make all the difference! Most of our desserts are made right her on campus by Jeannie, our lead baker.  Scones, danishes and tea breads are featured during breakfast while cookies, squares, brownies and bars are favorites at lunch.  Dinner meals feature delicious cobblers, pies and cakes to name a few treats from Jeannie's oven. Look for a selection of vegan desserts.

Kosher Kitchen
Higgins Kosher meat kitchen is under the supervision of the Worcester Vaad. This station is open to all of Clark community. Featuring all menus made from scratch. Some Clarkie favorites include meatballs, chicken sandwich, pastrami and beef stew. 

The Brick Oven
Fresh hand crafted pizza pies baked with a thin crust to a crunchy golden color. Clarkie favorites and specialty pizzas share the oven with calzones and stromboli's. Vegan specialty pizzas on whole grain dough are featured daily.

Pasta Toss
Enjoy two pasta sauces, made from scratch and freshly cut vegetables tossed with your favorite pasta that is naturally vegan (except egg noodles), often featuring whole grain. Our exhibition cooks may also saute fresh vegetables of your choice from the Salad Bar.

The Wok
The Wok station offers made from scratch authentic fried rice and noodle dishes. Our exhibition cooks may also saute fresh vegetables of your choice from the Salad Bar

Beverages
The Hydration station is a fruit infused fresh water experience. Flavors change daily such as strawberry basil, fresh orange, coconut and cinnamon or cucumber water. 


Rotisserie Oven
Look for specials made in our rotisserie oven and served at selected stations throughout the semester.
